"After a year of uncertainty following the COVID-19 pandemic, Neogen reached out to me about joining them. After a very quick interview process, the decision was made that I would join the team. I have now been here for 2 months and wanted to share some of my thoughts and feelings on the role.

 

  • You ARE Neogen – You will not be treated as a ‘cog in a machine’. You will be encouraged to contribute your ideas to improve the way we work, your suggestions will be listened to and taken on-board. You will genuinely have an impact on the business from week 1.

  • Autonomy – You will be given plenty of support from everyone on the team. However, you will not be micromanaged. You will be allowed to work autonomously, planning your own weeks/days.

  • NO KPI’s – Although you will be encouraged to set your own targets for the week, there is no official KPI’s that you must hit ‘OR ELSE’.

  • Security – Unlike many recruitment/sales organisations, your job will not be under threat if you hit a bumpy patch. As long as you show the you aren’t giving up on the job, Neogen won’t give up on you.

  • Remote working – Neogen have always been set up to work remotely. Allowing you the freedom to improve your work-life balance.

  • No cold calling – You will not be expected to pick up the phone and pitch to organisations you have never spoken to. We prefer strategic, relationship driven business development.

  • It is still recruitment – Despite many of the differences I have mentioned above, it is not an easy job. It is hard work, plenty of rejection, plenty of success, you will need to be resilient and ride the wave of emotions.

  • Progression – In return for your hard work, you’re in control of your future. Upon joining, Hakim and Sean will create a progression plan with you, detailing: Promotions, Salary increase, Commission. Once this is put in place, all there is left to do is go get it! You will not be held back and left to stagnate at any point. We have an ambitious culture and want ambitious people.

 

In my short term here, I have experienced highs and lows, but opportunity this organisation and the people in it have given me, makes me excited for the future at Neogen."
